That 'free region migration' isn't free
Heard this week: a managed host is sunsetting an older data-center region and dressing the forced move up as a 'performance upgrade'. Accounts in that region get a cheerful email about lower latency. The quieter story is a lease that wasn't renewed.
What it means for you: IP changes, possible DNS propagation pain, and email deliverability wobbles if your sending IP shifts pools. A source tells us at least one host is doing this without offering to preserve dedicated IPs.
Unconfirmed scope, but the EOL notices are already circulating.
Watch this: before you click 'approve migration', ask in writing whether your IP and SSL chain survive the move intact.
