<b>The PHP lag tell</b>
Heard this week: a few managed-WP platforms are conspicuously slow to roll out current PHP versions, and the reason isn't caution, it's headcount. A source tells us the platform team that used to ship version support in weeks now takes a quarter, because it lost the engineers who knew the custom stack.
This matters more than it sounds. Falling behind on language versions means falling behind on security patches and plugin compatibility, and it quietly caps what your developers can build.
Unconfirmed which platform is furthest behind, but the gap is widening at two of them.
Watch this: check your host's supported-versions page against the official release calendar. The distance between them is a health metric.
