Your sameAs array is a knowledge-graph handshake, not a social-link dump
People stuff sameAs with Twitter and Instagram and call it done. The high-leverage use is entity disambiguation: point sameAs at your Wikidata Q-number, your Wikipedia URL, and your Crunchbase entry. That's how you tell Google's Knowledge Graph 'this Organization is THIS entity, not the five others with our name.'
The leak nobody talks about — AI systems lean hard on Wikidata for entity grounding. A sameAs link to a Q-ID is a direct line into the data layer ChatGPT and Perplexity reason over.
What it means for you — audit your Organization and Person markup. Social profiles are fine, but the Wikidata/Wikipedia link is the one that moves entity recognition.
Watch this: entity-based ranking rewards the sites that nail their identity graph early.
