How to spot an affiliate program migration before broken links start draining your traffic

An acquisition or network migration can change tracking domains, reporting rules, payment contacts, terms, and approved traffic sources—even when the brand name stays the same. Treat unusual silence, new dashboard access, altered creatives, or a redirect to another platform as signals to investigate, not proof that the program has closed.

Use this review checklist:
— Confirm the program’s current login and tracking domain.
— Compare link formats, sub IDs, and deeplinks with your saved templates.
— Check whether commission rules, attribution windows, and product exclusions changed.
— Verify that your payment profile and tax details transferred correctly.

Keep an inventory of every active link, landing page, coupon mention, and reporting ID. Test representative links from different content types, then compare clicks, conversions, and order status in the new interface. Preserve screenshots and export reports before access or historical data disappears.

If the migration is unclear, pause expansion rather than replacing every link at once. Prepare an approved alternative for each important category, but keep the original relationship documented until outstanding commissions and reversals are reconciled.

A simple quarterly link-and-account audit turns a surprise migration into a manageable maintenance task.
