Audit your entity footprint in one afternoon before search engines guess for you
Map every place your brand appears: site, About page, footer, social profiles, Google Business Profile, Wikidata, Crunchbase-like listings, podcasts, and guest posts. Use the same brand name, logo, description, and URL variants everywhere. One mismatch is enough to split signals.
Then check the signals search engines use to connect you to a real entity:
— Are your Organization/Person/Product pages marked up clearly?
— Do top pages mention the same founders, locations, and product names?
— Do external profiles point back to one canonical domain?
— Are important pages indexed and not buried behind noindex, redirects, or thin copies?
Next, search your brand in plain text and in combination with key people, places, and products. Note what appears in the Knowledge Panel, related entities, and autocomplete. If a competitor or irrelevant topic shows up first, your footprint is too weak or too noisy. Fix the weakest node first, not the loudest one.
Finish by making one short cleanup list: update bios, align descriptions, remove duplicate profiles, and add missing internal links between your entity pages. Keep the same facts on every surface. Consistency beats volume, and one clean entity graph is easier to grow than ten messy mentions.
