PageSpeed Insights vs Search Console for vitals
Both pull from the same real-visitor data (CrUX), but serve different purposes. PageSpeed Insights checks one URL deeply. The Core Web Vitals report in Search Console groups your whole site into 'good', 'needs improvement', and 'poor' buckets.
Think of PSI as a doctor's exam for one patient, and Search Console as the hospital's ward overview.
When to use which:
— Fixing a single important page: PSI, for the detailed breakdown.
— Deciding where to even start across a big site: Search Console, since it shows which page groups fail most.
Try this: open Search Console, click 'Core Web Vitals', and look at the largest 'poor' group first. Fixing one shared template often lifts hundreds of pages at once. That's the highest-leverage move you'll make.
