Short writing: one idea, one shape, no runway
Short text has the same problem as short video, minus the excuse of production time.
Rules that hold up:
— One post, one idea. If you need "also" and "another thing", you have two posts.
— The first line is the entire pitch. Write it last, once you know what you actually said.
— Break any paragraph running longer than three lines on a phone. Density reads as work.
— Use concrete nouns. "Improve your process" is invisible. Naming the specific step is not.
— Cut hedges. "Might", "perhaps", "in some cases" — keep only the ones carrying real uncertainty. The rest is flinching.
— End on the sentence you would actually say to a colleague. Formal closings kill momentum.
Then read it back and delete the first sentence. It is usually the runway you needed to get moving, and the reader does not need it.
Write long, publish short.
