How do I run an internal-linking pass on existing content?
Q: My old posts barely link to each other. How do I fix that systematically?
A: Short answer: link from strong pages TO the ones you want to rank. Longer answer:
— List your top 10 pages by authority (most backlinks/traffic). These are your link-givers.
— Pick the 5-10 pages you WANT to rank but that are stuck. These are your link-receivers.
— Search your site: site:yourdomain.com "topic phrase" to find every place the receiver could be mentioned.
— Add contextual links with descriptive anchor text — not "click here."
— Cap it: 3-5 relevant internal links per 1,000 words, no stuffing.
New posts should link to old, AND you go back to add links from old to new. Both directions.
Anyone want me to go deeper on this? React 👍
