Playbook: finding your real best posting times on Threads (not the tool's defaults)
Tested this against Metricool's auto-suggested times on a real account for 21 days. My actual peaks were two hours off their guess.
— Ignore the heatmap for week one. Post the same content type at 9am, 1pm, 6pm, 9pm and log views at the 3h mark.
— Normalize by follower count, not raw views; a growing account inflates later slots.
— Run a second week swapping the content types across slots. This separates "good time" from "good post."
— Only then lock the tool's schedule to your two winning windows.
— Re-test quarterly. Threads' feed weighting shifts and old slots go cold.
Metricool's standout is exportable per-hour data to run this yourself. 22 USD/mo. Annoying limit: its built-in suggestion uses follower timezone guesses, which skew wrong for global audiences.
Verdict: Worth it only if you override the auto-times with your own test.
