A repurposing playbook: one newsletter into a week of posts
The question: how do you extract maximum reach from long-form content without spamming the same idea five times?
The principle behind this comes from the 'curiosity gap' literature in attention research: a post earns dwell time when it opens a loop the reader needs to close. One newsletter holds several loops.
The playbook:
— Day 1: lead with the newsletter's single most counterintuitive finding as a standalone text post.
— Day 2: turn the methodology into a 'how we figured this out' document post.
— Day 3: extract one objection a skeptic would raise, and answer it.
— Day 4: pull one chart into a single-image post with a one-line takeaway.
— Day 5: post a poll that tests whether your audience agrees with the finding.
— Each post links to the full piece only in the first comment, not the body.
Limitations: repurposing fatigues an audience that follows you closely; vary the angle, not just the format. No controlled study isolates the per-day lift here — treat the sequence as a heuristic.
What it means for B2B: long content is raw material, not a finished asset. The distribution is where the work is.
Bottom line: write once, angle five times — each post a different door into the same room.
