Ahrefs or Search Console for refresh hunting? Use both, but in order.
Messed this up for years. Ran Ahrefs first, refreshed posts it flagged as decaying, barely moved.
Here's the order that actually works now:
— GSC first. Filter pages losing clicks but holding impressions. That's intent that already trusts you, just bleaking.
— Ahrefs second. Pull positions 4-12 on those same URLs to see WHICH keyword slipped.
Ahrefs guesses at intent. GSC knows it because it's your real demand. One tells you the wound, the other points to the bullet.
Go audit your top 20 by impression decline. Report back.
