Hot take: every affiliate who picks a slick SaaS cloaker over a self-hosted one is trading a weekend of setup for a vendor who can read every campaign, every split, every winning angle you run — and freeze it on a chargeback.
The SaaS crowd will tell you it's about uptime and support. It's about laziness. You handed a third party a real-time feed of what makes you money, and you're surprised when the "managed" service decides your vertical is now "high risk."
Self-host is harder, slower, lonelier. It's also the only version where nobody but you holds the off switch.
