The first sentence of your Quora answer is the only one that matters.
Quora truncates the preview at ~50 characters in feed and Google snippets cut around 155. If your opener is throat-clearing, you're dead before line two.
My opener checklist:
— Lead with a number or a contrarian claim, never "In my experience."
— Make a promise the body keeps ("Three things nobody tells you about X").
— No question marks in the first line. You're answering, not asking.
— Read it cold. If it could open any answer, rewrite it.
I've watched the same answer 3x its views by swapping line one alone.
The hook is the whole game. Agree?
