Q: I've got a 2021 post barely getting traffic. Refresh it or kill it?

A: Short answer: run it through a 4-question tree. Longer answer:

— Does the topic still have search demand? No demand = delete/redirect. Don't refresh dead topics.
— Is there a better page on YOUR site covering it? Yes = merge and 301 into that one.
— Is it factually wrong or embarrassing now? Yes, but topic's alive = full rewrite, new publish date.
— Still relevant and decent but stale? = light refresh: update stats, screenshots, add a section, re-promote.

The trap is refreshing zombies — pages on topics nobody searches anymore. Demand check first, always.
