"Build the landing page in a no-code builder to ship fast." [DEPENDS]
The builder-vs-coded debate gets won by whoever's loudest in the meeting. Speed-to-launch is real; so is the bill that comes due.
The mechanism: drag-drop builders ship a working page in an afternoon but bolt on heavy runtime scripts, bloated DOM, and render-blocking CSS you can't strip. For a page judged on load speed and Largest Contentful Paint, that overhead is a permanent tax on every visit.
When no-code wins: validating an offer, a short-lived campaign, a page that'll be dead in three weeks. Speed beats grams of payload when you don't yet know if the offer works.
When a hand-coded (or lean-template) page wins: a proven, high-traffic page where a 0.5s speed gain compounds across millions of visits into real money.
The rule: unproven and temporary → builder. Proven and permanent → invest in lean code.
The nuance: the mistake isn't choosing the builder. It's keeping the builder page after the offer proved out and the traffic got expensive. Migrate the winners.
