Your first 3 seconds should be the middle of a sentence, not the start of one.
Stop greeting people. Here's the exact cold-open build:
— Find the single most absurd or contested line in your script.
— Cut everything before it. That line is now second 0.
— Add a visual that contradicts the words on screen.
A viewer who lands mid-conflict can't predict the next beat, so they stay to resolve it. "Welcome back" tells them they've seen this before. They click off.
