They told you: "all shared hosts pack the same." Some pack 4,000 sites per box. Here's the audit they hate.

— SSH in, run uptime at 9am, 3pm, 9pm. Load average above your core count = neighbors eating your CPU.
— cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep processor | wc -l vs what they sold you.
— nproc against actual cgroup limits in /sys/fs/cgroup.
— Run ioping -c 20 . Disk latency over 10ms means a hammered RAID.
— Ping a static file every minute for an hour. Variance over 200ms = a crowded box.

Reality: the brochure measures the empty server, not the one you're moving into.
