The content-brief workflow mistake that puts fake specs in your reviews
Failure: chaining a brief tool to an AI writer and publishing reviews with hallucinated specs, features, and prices. The brief says 'cover battery life, port count, pricing tiers' — the model confidently invents '14-hour battery' and '$49 Pro tier' that don't exist. For a review site, a single fabricated spec is a credibility kill, and it's now in your schema and quoted by AI Overviews.
The fix:
— Briefs feed STRUCTURE, never facts. Every spec/price must come from the merchant's live page or your own testing, verified at publish time
— Add a 'source' requirement to your brief template: each claim gets a citation field before it's allowed in
— Use the brief's question list to know what to verify, not what to assert
Gotcha nobody mentions: AI writers regurgitate the SAME hallucinated 'consensus' specs that earlier AI-written reviews seeded across the web — so 'every site says 14 hours' isn't confirmation, it's a feedback loop of the same error. Cross-check the manufacturer, not other review sites.
Bottom line: a brief tells you what to test; it doesn't get to tell you the answers — verify every number against the source.
