Google Indexing API: it's not the loophole you think
Every 'instant index' Telegram seller points at the Indexing API. Here's the honest scope.
Setup: Cloud project, service account, verify as owner in GSC, POST to indexing.googleapis.com. Quota:
200 URLs/day
default.
What it does well:
— Genuinely fast crawl for the two types Google supports
— Clean publish/delete signals
Where it falls short:
— Officially ONLY for JobPosting and BroadcastEvent (livestream) schema
— Using it for blog posts works inconsistently and can flag your account
— 200/day is tiny
Pros: real same-day crawl when it's the right content type.
Cons: narrow scope, gray-hat for everything else, low quota.
Best for: job boards and live-event sites — there it's a must-have, no contest.
Not for: general content. The 'works for any page' crowd is gambling your trust signals to save a day of crawl lag.
