FAQ schema or HowTo schema — which fits your page?

Today's lesson: structured data — hidden labels in your code that explain your content — comes in types built for different page shapes. Two get confused constantly.

Imagine a Q&A booth versus a recipe card.

1. FAQ fits a page that answers several separate questions ('Is shipping free?', 'What's the return window?'). It's a Q&A booth.
2. HowTo fits one task done in order ('How to reset a router' — step 1, 2, 3). It's a recipe card.
3. Don't wrap a tutorial in FAQ markup or a question list in HowTo. Google checks that the code matches the visible page.

The tradeoff: FAQ shows more visibly today; HowTo's rich result has been scaled back, so use it for clarity, not flashy features.
