Pitching with zero proof you can write
You claim you'll deliver 'high-quality content,' but you give them nothing to verify it. To them you're a coin flip — might be great, might be garbage they have to rewrite.
De-risk yourself in one line:
— Link 2 published pieces, ideally on similar sites
— No bylines yet? Link a strong post on your own blog
— 'Here's the quality bar I write to: [link]'
That single proof link is the difference between 'maybe' and 'sure.' Editors fear bad writers more than they want free content. Hand them the receipt up front. Go grab two links.
