Marking everything as Thing or WebPage helps nobody
Surfacing in entity audits: pages whose only schema is @type: WebPage or, worse, bare Thing. It validates, it parses, and it earns you exactly zero eligibility because no rich result attaches to those generic types. Specificity is the whole point of schema.org's hierarchy.
What it means for you: a software page should be SoftwareApplication, a service page Service, a person Person with jobTitle and worksFor. The more specific the type, the more properties Google and answer engines can extract and trust.
Watch this: AI answer engines lean hard on precise types to build entity relationships. Generic WebPage markup is technically valid and strategically worthless — upgrade the type before you add another property.
