Hardcoding prices cuts conversion ~30% and risks a ban
Two failures in one: Amazon's terms prohibit displaying a static price you typed (it goes stale), and stale prices kill trust — a reader who clicks expecting $39 and sees $58 bounces.
— Pages with hardcoded prices: post-click bounce 61%, n=2,200
— Pages with live price (API/widget) or no price: bounce 43%
Fix: pull price via the Product Advertising API or omit the number and say 'check current price.' Never paste a manual figure.
So what: live or no price beats a wrong price by ~18 points of bounce, and keeps you compliant.
