Average view duration is the most misleading number YouTube gives you, and you keep optimizing for it
AVD is one summary stat hiding the shape of the drop. Two videos with identical AVD can have a clean slope or a cliff at 0:30, and only the cliff is fixable. The relative retention graph tells you WHERE, AVD only tells you 'bad.'
