The Performance-Data Source Split
Native analytics or a third-party tool (Metricool, Shield)? They answer different questions.
□ 1. Real-time input — native shows live audience-retention curves you can't get elsewhere. Use it to find the drop-off frame.
□ 2. Cross-platform view — comparing the same format across 4 platforms? Third-party normalizes it into one dashboard.
□ 3. Hook diagnosis — only native retention curves tell you if your first 2 seconds are leaking. That's where the format lives or dies.
□ 4. QA pass — pull retention weekly, mark the exact second viewers quit.
Tradeoff: native = deep per-post mechanics, third-party = portfolio-level trends.
Run both: native daily, third-party weekly.
