You disavowed links Google can't even see.
The myth: your backlink tool's index is what Google is judging you on, so clean all the red rows.
Actually, third-party crawlers and Google's link graph overlap loosely. Tools surface dead links, links Google never indexed, and ones already discounted — plus they miss plenty Google does see.
Reality: you're cleaning a dataset Google doesn't use to score you. Disavowing a link Google never counted changes nothing; disavowing a dead URL is pure noise.
The failure mode is mistaking a vendor's crawl for Google's reality and grading your risk off the wrong map.
The fix: anchor decisions to Search Console's link report — Google's own view — and cross-check before acting. If it's not in Google's index, it's not in your risk model.
Reality check: clean the map Google reads, not the one a vendor sells.
