Your video looks dull in the carousel
Today's lesson: a video carousel is that scrollable row of clip previews on Google, like flipping through movie posters at a theater.
Real example: search how to repot a plant and a row of clips appears — your eye jumps to the brightest, clearest thumbnail.
The mistake: people let the platform grab a random frozen frame — a blurry mid-blink shot — as the thumbnail. Next to crisp competitor previews, it gets zero clicks even when ranked.
The fix:
— Upload a custom thumbnail: clear subject, big readable text, good lighting.
— Show the END result (the repotted plant), not the messy middle.
— Keep any text short — three or four words max.
Think of it like a book cover. Same story inside, but the cover decides who picks it up.
Try this: glance at your video thumbnails and replace the worst one. 🎓
