Your "related posts" widget is linking by recency, not relevance. It's noise with a CSS class.
Hot take: an automated related-posts block that pulls the last three articles in the same category is internal-linking malpractice. It builds a topical mesh out of coincidence. Google sees a link, follows it, finds zero semantic connection, and learns nothing about either page.
The fix: link related posts by actual content similarity — shared entities, overlapping query intent, real topical proximity. Ten hand-curated contextual links beat a hundred algorithmic "you might also like" guesses every time.
Who audited their related-posts logic in the last year? Or is it still whatever the plugin shipped with?
