Q: My affiliate payout is on hold for 'KYC failure' but my documents are real. What broke?
A: KYC (Know Your Customer — the identity check before a network pays you) rarely fails because your ID is fake. It fails on mismatches between fields you control.
The classic failures:
— The name on your payout wallet or bank doesn't EXACTLY match the name on your ID. 'Aleksandr' on the passport, 'Alex' on PayPal — auto-reject.
— Your registered company is the payee, but you uploaded a personal ID. The entity and the document have to be the same legal person.
— Address on your utility bill is older than the network's freshness limit (usually 3 months).
— You photographed the ID with a glare strip across the document number, so OCR can't read it.
Fix: line up four things to be identical — legal name, payout account name, tax form name, and ID name. One spelling drift breaks the chain. Re-shoot documents flat, in daylight, no flash, all four corners visible.
Short version: KYC fails on mismatched names and stale addresses, not on honesty. Align every field.
