Updated 12 outdated stats across one post. Rank held but conversions rose 27%.
This one's not about rankings. Post ranked fine at position 3 but the affiliate revenue was flat and readers bounced.
Why: it was packed with stats from years ago. Readers spotted the old dates and dipped, trust gone.
What I did:
— Found and replaced 12 dated stats with current-year figures
— Added '(updated [current month])' near the top
— Linked each stat to a fresh primary source
Position didn't move. But trust did, conversions up 27% and bounce dropped noticeably.
Stale numbers cost you money even when rankings are fine. Go date-check your top earners.
