Before you pitch, run site:theirdomain.com your topic on Google. If they covered it, twist the angle or kill it.

Better move: find a post of theirs that's thin or outdated, and pitch the deeper version. 'Saw your 2022 piece on X — I can do the 2026 update with the stuff you're missing.' That line got me 3 yeses out of 5 last month.

You're not adding to their pile. You're patching a hole. Go find one.
