1% vs 10% Lookalike: how wide to go
Quick refresher: a Lookalike audience copies traits from your customer list. The percentage is how close the match is. A 1% Lookalike is the closest match in a country; a 10% is much broader and looser.
How to choose:
— 1%: when your budget is small and you want the tightest, most-likely buyers.
— 10%: when 1% is too small to spend your budget, or you've already tapped the close matches and need scale.
The tradeoff: 1% is precise but limited in size, so costs can climb as you exhaust it. 10% reaches far more people but with weaker resemblance.
Try this: start at 1-3%, and only widen when your audience size shrinks or costs rise. Don't worry if the percentages feel abstract — closer number, tighter match.
