Gutenberg vs a page builder for a content blog
For a 500-post blog, the editor choice is a page-weight decision.
Core Gutenberg:
— Pros: zero extra render-blocking CSS, blocks output semantic HTML, theme.json controls spacing globally, posts load ~30-60KB lighter
— Cons: thin layout controls, no flex/grid without a block plugin, repetitive layouts mean copy-paste patterns
Full builder (Elementor/Divi):
— Pros: pixel control on every post, reusable templates, fancy CTAs inline
— Cons: every post drags the builder's CSS/JS bundle, editing 500 posts later means builder lock-in
Best for: Gutenberg on high-volume editorial where speed compounds; a builder only on landing-heavy sites with few posts.
