The pod that flags you
Everyone says: "Join an engagement pod — 20 people commenting in the first hour rockets your reach."
The claim: early velocity from a pod tricks the algorithm into wider distribution.
What's actually true: pods worked, then the system started weighting WHO engages and how. The mistake is a pod where the same 20 accounts comment on everything you post — that's a detectable cluster, and reciprocal-engagement graphs get discounted. You teach the algorithm your real audience is 20 marketers, so it shows your post to 20 marketers. Tested fix: kill the standing pod. Instead, comment substantively on 5 posts from people in your actual buyer segment the hour before you publish. Their engagement on you afterward is organic and graph-diverse.
The pod doesn't expand your audience. It tells the machine exactly how small it is.
