The noindex-plus-schema trap nuking your rich results
Flagged in the wild this week: pages serving perfect Product JSON-LD while quietly carrying a noindex tag from a stale plugin rule. Google reads the noindex first, drops the URL from the index, and your structured data never gets parsed — but Search Console's Rich Results report stays empty rather than throwing an error, so teams blame the markup.
What it means for you: when a valid type returns zero eligible items, stop debugging the schema. Pull the rendered HTTP headers and the rendered <head> for X-Robots-Tag and robots meta. CDN edge rules and tag-manager injections are the usual culprits.
Watch this: a single canonical pointing at a noindexed twin will silently sink the whole cluster's eligibility.
