Case file: a real date beat "limited time"
Urgency copy, two flavors, same offer window.
— Vague: "Limited time only." Conversion baseline.
— Specific: "Ends Thursday at midnight." Conversion up 18%, and the final-day spike was 3x daily average.
Why it works: "limited time" is a phrase shoppers have learned to ignore — it's never actually limited. A named deadline is checkable and concrete, so the scarcity registers as real. The visible endpoint also creates a procrastination cliff that drives the last-day surge. File under: urgency has to be falsifiable to be felt. Put a real clock on it.
