"Use trending sounds to ride the wave." By the time a sound is 'trending' in the app, the wave already broke for new entrants. Trending audio is a tagging signal with a short window. Decide properly:

— Check the sound's age. Climbing under 3 days = usable. Plateaued = skip.
— Does it fit your content natively? Forced = retention drops, which the algo weights over the sound.
— Can you add a twist, not just dance to it? Derivative copies get buried.

Sound matters only as a discovery hint, never as a substitute for a hook. Riding a dead wave is just falling with extra steps.
