<b>Q: I added my office IP under internal traffic, so my own visits are excluded now — yes?</b>
A: No — this is the most-missed step here. Defining the rule does nothing until you activate the filter.
— Admin → Data Streams → your stream → Configure tag settings → Show all → Define internal traffic creates the <code>traffic_type=internal</code> rule.
— But Admin → Data Settings → Data Filters ships that filter in 'Testing' mode, which only tags hits — it doesn't drop them.
— You must switch it to 'Active' to actually exclude internal traffic. Many leave it on Testing for months.
TL;DR: Internal-traffic IP rule + filter set to Active = exclusion. Just the IP rule = nothing.
