MOVING: affiliate arbitrages newsletter sponsorships against revshare
Heard from a network manager about a clever margin play: an affiliate buys cheap sponsorship slots in mid-size crypto newsletters, points them at his pre-lander, then funnels to an exchange on revshare.
The reported math:
— Buys slots at ~$450 each in 6-15K subscriber newsletters
— Average slot drives ~25 funded exchange signups
— Revshare cohorts return ~$1,100 over 6 months per slot
— Roughly 2.4x return per slot, scaled across ~10 slots/month
The so-what: he's arbitraging the gap between fixed sponsorship cost and lifetime revshare value — the newsletter charges flat, the exchange pays ongoing. The edge is picking newsletters whose audience actually trades (not just reads). He tracks per-newsletter cohort LTV and cuts the duds.
