The "$48 RPM day" everyone screenshots
The claim: a single glorious day proves the network's ceiling. Posted without context, reposted as the network's typical performance.
The asterisk: it's one day, often a Black Friday or a viral spike, on a low-session count where variance runs wild. At 800 sessions, one whale advertiser or a single high-CPM video fill swings the daily RPM by $15.
🚩 Hidden variable: sample size and date. Small-sample days have huge variance; the poster shows the right tail and never the left.
The same site's trailing-90-day RPM is $22. The $48 day is real and meaningless as a benchmark.
Not saying the day didn't happen — saying a single high-variance day is an anecdote, not a rate, and comparing your average to someone's best day is rigged from the first pixel.
