Marketing built a rich content library, 400 articles, in Webflow CMS. A year later the product team needed that same content inside a mobile app. Webflow's CMS API is read-limited and rate-capped, never meant to be a content backend for other apps. They migrated to a headless CMS so both web and app could pull from one source. The migration cost ~3 weeks, and the new setup served the app at 50ms per request. Content trapped in a website builder is content you can use exactly once, on the website.
