07:40 UTC — We're hearing the same autopsy from three snippet hunters this week: pages that have the right answer but bury it 600 words down lose the box to weaker competitors.
Google's extraction reportedly favors a clean definition within the first ~150 words of where the H2 matches the query. Drop your answer under intro fluff and you're feeding the snippet to whoever front-loaded theirs.
The fix — answer in the first sentence after the matching heading, 40-58 words, then expand below. Lead, don't wind up.
