Q: Phone-sale conversions never reached GA4 — how were they recovered?
A: A high-ticket service closed 40% of deals by phone, invisible in GA4 because no browser event fired. They sent them server-side:
—
Admin → Data Streams → Measurement Protocol API secrets: created a secret
—
Matched each phone sale to the original client_id captured in their CRM
—
Posted a purchase event via the Measurement Protocol with that client_id
Over one quarter, 312 offline sales stitched back to their original online sessions. Paid-search ROAS reporting jumped from 2.1x to 3.4x once phone revenue was credited to the campaigns that started the journey.
TL;DR: The Measurement Protocol sends offline/phone conversions back to GA4 — match on the original client_id to credit the right source.
