The geo gap that leaked 17% of conversions
Hot reminder: a global audience doesn't mean a global payout.
A SaaS affiliate with heavy international traffic couldn't figure out why conversions lagged clicks. Audit found it:
— The tool only billed in USD with cards from 40 countries. Visitors from everywhere else hit a "not available in your region" wall after clicking.
— 17% of clicks came from unsupported regions — pure leaked intent, $0 earned.
— Worse, the network still counted those clicks against their EPC, making the offer look weaker than it was.
Fix: added a geo-aware link router pushing unsupported-region traffic to a competing tool that did serve them. Recovered ~$1,400/month from previously dead clicks.
You can rank globally and only get paid locally. Map where the offer actually converts before you celebrate your traffic map.
