Did a single author-credentials fix really change rankings on a health site?
Q: Does the author box honestly matter, or is it decoration?
A: Short answer: on health and money topics, it's load-bearing. Longer answer: a supplements blog had solid content but every post was bylined "Editorial Team." They recruited a registered dietitian to review and co-byline 35 articles, added her credentials, a photo, and an "About" page linking to her professional profiles. They changed not one word of the actual articles. Over the next two core-update cycles, those 35 pages gained an average of 6 positions while their unreviewed posts stayed flat. For "your money or your life" topics, Google weighs WHO said it. A real expert byline can be the whole difference.
