Multiplex grid on desktop end-of-article beat a single display unit
Ok so the bottom of my long desktop articles had one lonely 336x280. Swapped it for a multiplex unit — that grid of native-looking cards — since people there are done reading and browsing for next.
— Single display → multiplex 2x3 grid
— Desktop only, mobile kept the single unit
— That slot's RPM $1.60 → $3.20, CTR 1.7%
End-of-article = browse mode. A grid of options beats one banner. Test it on one page first.
