Case study: a 3-question pre-qual quiz raised FTD value 22%

Case study: a 3-question pre-qual quiz raised FTD value 22%

What it is: Instead of a single email field, a forex lander added a 3-step quiz (capital range, trading experience, timeframe) before the broker handoff, segmenting by self-declared deposit intent.

Best for: Revshare and CPA+revshare deals where depositor size matters.

What was done:
— Ran the quiz lander vs the single-field control on 4,800 split visitors
— Routed 'over $1k capital' answers to a priority broker queue
— Measured FTD rate and average first-deposit size per variant

Outcome:
— Lead volume dropped 19% (quiz friction), as expected
— But average first-deposit size rose from $190 to $232 (+22%)
— Net revenue per 1,000 visitors rose 9% despite fewer leads

Pros:
— Self-declared capital correlated surprisingly well with actual deposit size
— The priority queue gave the call center better-qualified leads

Cons:
— 19% lead loss hurts on pure CPL deals that don't reward quality
— Self-reported answers attract some aspirational lying; not a hard filter

Who should skip this: Flat-CPA buyers paid the same per FTD regardless of deposit size.

Verdict: Friction filters for bigger deposits.
