The bug report that came from Reddit, not QA

The bug report that came from Reddit, not QA

It was launch night for an indie game, and the studio's three-person team was drowning. Hundreds of posts, dozens of complaints, no way to know which fire was biggest.

The community manager ran the mentions through a simple frequency cluster. One issue dominated: 41% of negative posts described the same save-file corruption, while the loudest individual rage-posts were about cosmetic gripes that barely registered in volume.

They ignored the loud minority and shipped a hotfix for the save bug within fourteen hours. The patch note quoted the exact player phrasing from the mentions, so the community felt heard.

Negative sentiment dropped from 48% to 19% over the weekend, and the game held a "Mostly Positive" rating it had nearly lost.

The takeaway: in a flood of complaints, volume tells you where to aim. Triage by frequency, not by who's shouting hardest.
