Rewriting descriptions as real sentences beat keyword stuffing
A wellness coach had been stuffing pin descriptions with comma-separated keywords — 'yoga, morning routine, wellness, self care, habits.' Her impressions were stuck near 6,000 a month and barely moving.
We rewrote every description into two or three natural sentences that happened to contain her target phrases: what the pin offered, who it helped, what to do next. Same keywords, woven into language a human would actually read.
Pinterest's search has gotten better at understanding meaning, not just matching tags. Over two months her impressions rose to about 14,000 and, more telling, her click rate improved because the descriptions now made a promise instead of listing words.
Takeaway: Modern Pinterest rewards readable, intent-rich descriptions over keyword lists. Write for the person; the algorithm understands sentences now.
