Seasonal offer crushed it, then died. What did I do wrong?
Q: A reader built a campaign around a tax-software offer, hit $9k in March, then watched it collapse to near zero by May.
A: Nothing wrong with the March run. The mistake was having no evergreen base under it. Tax offers are seasonal by nature; demand vanishes after the deadline.
We looked at their account. 100% of revenue rode one seasonal vertical. We rebuilt the mix: kept the tax offer for Q1 but added an evergreen VPN offer as the year-round floor.
Next 12 months:
— VPN evergreen: steady ~$2,100/month, every month
— Tax seasonal: $9k spike in March, near zero otherwise
The evergreen offer paid the bills; the seasonal one was bonus.
Short version: build on an evergreen floor, treat seasonal offers as spikes on top — never as your whole income.
